Can't you just lower the text speed in the options? If you mean "Subtitle speed" in ScummVM options, it doesn't have any effect for Broken Sword 1 as far as I can tell. Besides, it would be better to have the option to pause completly (not only to slow down) as well anyway... like to have...

I would really like to be able to pause Broken Sword 1 anytime to have more time to read the text... it is actually for my girlfriend who is trying to learn english
