I don't know if repacking works with QuickBMS. Ritter [en] will probably not be workable with ScummVM because of the missing checksum.

Re: Ritter game translation
Please note the following: Features: open source and multiplatform, tested on Windows ( even Win98 ) and GNU/Linux (x86 and PPC) However, the best way is still via ScummVM-Weblate, so that the translation file is also installed later via ScummVM (e.g. ritter.dat). But a developer must decided whethe...

Re: Ritter game translation
The best way is via Weblate translation , sev can say more about that. However, the game contains a few graphics with German texts. For testing I extracted the file data.dcp with QuickBMS: https://aluigi.altervista.org/quickbms.htm https://aluigi.altervista.org/bms/wintermute.bms The texts are conta...

libvpx7 dependency
I wonder why ScummVM (Daily Build/master branch) depends strictly on libvpx7 and not on a higher version. Currently libvpx7 is only available for Debian/stable ( bookworm ) but not more for Debian/unstable. Debian unstable/sid currently uses libvpx8 and/or libvpx9 . With libvpx9 installed, but witho...

[solved] Syberia (macOS) only detects in English?
Has anyone tested Syberia with a language other than English? ScummVM only detects Syberia in English, switching to German (or other language) is not possible. I have Syberia 1 & 2 on GOG and Steam. I have seen that there are no languages entered in the detection_tables.h from tetraedge. https:/...

Re: Cannot open ScummVM 2.5.x DW2 savegame on ScummVM 2.6.0
If you still have this issue with that release, can you share the savegame causing this problem? I can confirm incompatible save games (from year 2010). New saves do not cause problems. Tested with Stable and daily build (ScummVM latest Branch master). OS: Debian/sid $ scummvm WARNING: Couldn't ini...

Re: Please help with testing the upcoming ScummVM 2.6.0 release!
I finished the German version of Marvel Comics Spider-Man: The Sinister Six with different exits. Died and revived several times. Played with easy combat and difficult puzzles, mouse and keyboard controls. Without cheats (1x 'C' used). But I have reported save game bug #13587 , the game save is not ...

Other games are missing the categorization as well.Praetorian wrote: ↑Mon May 30, 2022 1:55 amThe Zork miscategorization sounds like an oversight though. This should be reported as a bug,

Re: scummvm.ini in ScummVM root dir
That's why you usually hide such an option in an advanced setup option on the first Next button/install dir selection on the Installer. 99% will just click through everything, but if you are interested, you can choose. I agree, Installer should be straight forward for easy use. Correct. https://abl...

Re: Unable to save my game in ScummVM
I was able to solve the issue by running ScummVM as admin. Never run a program as administrator, you will only get problems. Because of the save games, there is the path tab in the ScummVM settings to select the save location (for all games or specific game). https://docs.scummvm.org/en/v2.2-docs/s...

Re: scummvm.ini in ScummVM root dir
That's correct, the scummvm.ini file is stored in the %APPDATA% directory on Win32 or inside the user's home directory on Linux. In order to have a fully portable version, we'd have to implement something like "if there's a local scummvm.ini in the same folder as the executable, then run this,...

Re: Custom Categories in ScummVM
Idea: Users add custom labels to the game, with a (label) dropdown on the gui can find the grouped games. Example scummvm.ini: [shinestar-win] label=wintermute unsupported adventure play [kq3] label=sierra adventure quest king play [pq4-cd] label=sierra adventure quest police play [lba] label=action...

Re: The 7th Guest in German?
1) ScummVM only supports the legacy version of The 7 Guest but not The 7th Guest: 25th Anniversary Edition . 2) The German (legacy) version of The 7 Guest (Hint: Sky du Mont as narrator) was only available for CD-i and is not supported by ScummVM (different engine). https://wiki.scummvm.org/index.ph...

Re: Which games would you like to be supported on the future?
Edna & Harvey: The Breakout (German: Edna bricht aus) would be great. 2D graphics, I think with Java engine. A long time ago I played Edna with Java under Linux. Very humorous German dialogues (the English translation was not that good) https://www.mobygames.com/game/edna-harvey-the-breakout ht...
