Re: ESRGAN: AI Neural Net Upscaling (For HiRes Packs?)

This is such a primising development, well done! I can’t wait to see what can be done with this. Here's a video I made with his build playing Space Quest 4 with my ESRGAN background upscales: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVdali9PzKQ This can also be done for SCI0 EGA games! VGA-ifying EGA games c...

Re: ESRGAN: AI Neural Net Upscaling

This looks absolutely wonderful. I am sure there are all kinds of technical issues preventing use of the upscaled backgrounds without significant changes to the code, but would it be possible to use the undithered ones in the engine (e.g. no colour palette support issues)? They are already a signifi...

Beautiful book, can't recommend it enough. As the title suggests it features mostly art along with brief descriptions of the games, which are ordered chronologically, so it functions as a sort of visual history of the genre. But it's also full of interesting interviews with AG designers, some of whi...

I've recently contacted the creator of xBRZ in connection with his ScummVM build. Turns out he'd be happy for xBRZ to be integrated in the ScummVM master branch and has a suggestion to overcome the dependencies issue with MS PPL, which he has already successfully implemented in his other open source...

That's quite ridiculous :?. Shame on the new Trilobyte for misusing the name of the saga.

There you are: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=PVJW8P4R

It's quite a small picture (about 25x12cm, once joined), and the quality of the print isn't precisely great, but if someone can make a poster out of it, I'm sure that's you!

Would 600dpi do? It's the best I can get out of my scanner...

I have the Spanish version, and you can see how this inlay looks in our version. It's cut in two halves, though it seems to be the only one which reproduces the whole drawing without a hole in the middle.

Pretty cool indeed. It resembles much more accurately the way it moves when you play it through the Windows player, though it looks even smoother. I wish they released it on PC too.

I have submitted a list of supported games that would require such a feature at scummvm-devel. I hope I used it right, as it's been the first time I write to a mailing list.

I'm already glad you even take it into consideration, and I hope it could some time become a reality. :)

The way I see it, "Disable dithering", or "Remove dithering" or other expressions alike are kind of misleading for the end user. Sierra games came dithered, so dithering is not the real ScummVM feature, there's nothing to "disable". I believe it would be more correct to...

Great, good that you've checked the md5's yourself. I was getting a bit of a headache with that :?. Proein was quite known for its creepy publishings back in the days. Sometimes awfully localized, other times with no localization at all... Of course that was in the 90's, the company must have change...

Sorry, my bad. I didn't know it had to be done like that. Now I've read the wiki and tried using the console window. The thing is the game does get recognized (as multi-lingual), so there's no output to be taken. I've also tried using md5deep, but I can't get it to work with the instructions provide...

That's not correct. The game was in fact sold and localized in Spanish. I can provide the md5 checksums, if you tell me which files you need.
