Keymap for Android Tablet

Post by Rskofga »

Hi there!

My Son (9) is lazy af when it comes to reading. He refuses to practice his reading with books or anything. But he has a good interest in computerstuff.
So i thought maybe its a good idea to show him The Curse Of Monkey Island (which is still the best game in the world imo), cause there he is forced to read, if he wants to progress in the storyline.
I found the speech-speed adjustment, but at the slowest setting its still hard for him to keep up.
So now he opens the virtual keyboard and pauses the game there while dialogues. But this is annoying and sometimes frustrating because he has to be really quick.

Is there any possibility to assign the pause option with a double-tap for example?

That would be awesome!

There could be a solution but it's very specific to this issue. I believe that middle mouse click is not really used by this game, so you could assign the "keymap" for "Pause" to it. Middle mouse is achieved on android with three fingers tap (like "being impatient" gesture) or by holding one finger down for a bit (until the second vibration). The first way would probably be the fastest, since you want to pause the game at specific time.

Note: While testing this, I noticed we may have a bug for distinguishing gestures in the "direct mouse" mode. But in "touchpad enulation" mode it seems to work ok.

I think we're kind of stretching thin the possibilities with tapping, double tapping, holding down a finger etc trying to support what most point and click adventures do with a mouse, so there's little room here to expand on what we can add as another distinguishable gesture.

Omg, now i feel really stupid.
Thank you so much, i found it, and now two-finger-tap pauses the game in mouse-mode. Perfect!
