[KQ5 CD] Issues with language

Post by L@Zar0 »

Hi,

I decided finally to ask here for help. I'm trying to add text to the voices of King's Quest V CD Talkie in english. I accomplished that like here:

https://youtu.be/8ghh08towI0?feature=shared

Well, this is a sample working with ScummVM 2.0.0, original version that comes with GOG release.

Ok, here comes the issue/question.

I want to add multilanguage (english+spanish) to this version. You can see Spanish, and I made tests with multilanguage texts like {Hello#SHola} but I have not any success with ScummVM spliting texts and showing me the text I want when updated Main.sc (I put parseLang and printLang properties to 34). I use SCI Companion 3.0.1.7 for doing the modifications. The strange of all this thing, is that in DosBox the multilanguage feature works well. :(
But I would like that this feature would be working well also in ScummVM to maintain the compatibility. I updated also scummvm.ini with "language=es" or even changing the type of game for "kq5-cd-es" or something like that without any success either.

Do you know what could I be doing wrong or what am I missing? How detects ScummVM the language it must show?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

PD: BTW I tested all this also with 2.8.1 scummvm release.

Ok, issue solved. But I think I will open a bug in the scumm tracker.
