ScummVM on Windows ARM

Hello,
I offer you a partial port on Windows ARM of ScummVM .
I use VLC libraries :P
It lacks FreeType2, the version of VLC seems not to be the right one.

Toolchain

ScummVM v2.8.1 (WinARM64)

Greetings,

here is a release build of version 2.8.1 for Windows on ARM.
For some reason curl support was skipped :roll: , on the plus side NEON optimisations have kicked in. 8)


@Devs
Is there any point in drafting a compilation guide for Windows 11 on ARM64, before the platform has been anointed with "official status"?

Thanks so much for getting these out so quickly following a new release of ScummVM. I've tried to compile ScummVM on my Surface Laptop 7 device without much luck. It's much easier to head to your GitHub and just pull down a binary that's all ready to go.

Also, I wanted to verify that the lack of a cloud tab in the settings is due to a library that doesn't have a Windows ARM version available? Guessing so, but I'm quite a novice when it comes to building from source.

Hello Purduecoz,

the missing cloud functionality is either a bug or the WinARM64 platform is missing the CLOUD config item (as indicated in the doc).

You could also try the MSYS2 build (for some reason it does not run on my system).


Should you still want to compile ScummVM by yourself (e.g. will all engines support) - drop me a PM and I will send you a short how-to guide.

My offer still stands - expanding the wiki with compilation instructions for Windows on ARM.
