Adding Detection to games: CD-Structure or Installed folder?

Not every game has a folder layout that is the same on both the install medium and on the harddisk after installation.
Which one should be used when reporting games?

I'd say it depends on wether the game is playable from the disc or *has* to be installed due to some crunched data

I do know that there a double entries in the source for some games, one for the original disc and one for the installed data.

So...maybe report both?
