Fate Of Atlantis - Prob w/ navigating submarine to entrance

Post by Martin13 »

Hi,
I have a problem with Fate Of Atlantis (speech version).

I'm in the submarine, the only thing I still need to do is navigate the sub to the entrance of Atlantis.

I have all the controls. My problem is that I can't navigate the sub to the entrance. It always disappears behind the "hill" where the entrance is on. Is that a bug in ScummVM or do I miss a trick ?

Thanks in advance.

This has been reported several times before, so far each time in the end it was *not* a bug in ScummVM causing the problem...

So, it's likely a problem on your side ("you miss a trick" :-), although of course I can't 100% exclude the possibility that you hit upon a new bug. But I think the chances for that are pretty low.

Yeah, I read about other problems with blocked steering while in reverse and such. I think I understand how the steering works.

The strange thing is that alternating turning left and right makes the sub move closer (i.e. it's getting bigger and bigger). At one point I can't move closer. I can't steer in the desired direction for moving closer, just the other which would make the sub move farther away.
So I think I'm as close as I can be. I also navigate the sub to the same height as the entrance. And still it disappears behind the hill.

You're most likely right that the problem is on my side, not ScummVM. But I tried so long navigating the sub, I don't see any other possibility.

EDIT: I now steered the sub in every distance over the complete screen, checking if I possibly got the wrong entrance, but it didn't help. The entrance is the most front building on the hill, isn't it ?

The savegame worked for me with both 0.8.2 and the new 0.9.0(pre).
When you start, you go to the left, go to the right, and check your height, and everything should be going as desired...

Is the entrance really the building in the middle, most-front ?
I've a screenshot here:

Could you please tell me what I'm doing wrong ? This really drives me nuts. If I still don't get it, would you play this passage, save directly after this and send me the savegame ?

That's not the entrance to Altlantis. The Entrance is to the right of the screen. It's an cave entrance. It should look black.
