Lucas Arts Mac Game Pack Help
I just bought a Lucas Arts Mac Game Pack with MI 1, Loom, Indy 3 and Pipe Dream.
-I can't get Pipe Dream to work at all (I don't even know what it is anyway)
-Monkey Island can't find "000.lfl" (and neither can I even when searching for invisible files.....also I thought that the newest versions of ScummVM worked with the uncompressed Mac data files?)
-I can't move all of the Indy 3 .lfl files to one folder because there are some duplicate file names in each room (I can't get a version of Scumm VM that will work with those subfolders)
-Loom has no sound.
I know about the Loom sound solution since it is just like MI 1 but unlike my Monkey Island Madness CD, this Game Pack does not mount a music cd and a search of the CD did not reveal any music files hidden or otherwise. I can get Loom to play but even with the cd in my drive there is no sound whatsoever.
I use a MacBook Pro and I read on here somewhere that someone knew a way to force mount the music CD if that is the problem. Did Loom have sound in all of its variations? I read all of the topics that seemed to pertain to my problem but none have told me anything that might help. I know the answer is probably right in front of me but I could use some help.

"Pipe Dream" is not a game supported by ScummVM.
Monkey Island for Mac works quite well for me. It doesn't have a 000.LFL file over here, but a file called monkey.000
No, we can't send you any sound files, that would be illegal. But your CD doesn't have a sound track anyway, and sending it you wouldn't help you either, since that version of Loom didn't use CD audio. But like all versions of Loom, of course it has sound (as it is a central aspect of the game). However, ScummVM does (not yet) support the Mac version of Loom fully.
For Indy 3, the "duplicate files" should be identical, so you should still be able to merge the files all into a single directory. Maybe we'll make it possible to directly play from the "Rooms 1" etc. folder in the future, but for now, that's not possible unless you manually adjust your config file.

Thanks. Well it's no loss about Pipe Drean since I don't even know what it is. Yeah I know Moneky Island works fine. I was just going to compare my PC version to this Mac version...oh well. Guess your right about the music. i didn't even think about that.
When do you think the mac version of Loom might be supported? I have never played it and i am very curious.

Maybe you got a non-supported version, why don't you post the md5sums, so the devs can have a look?clone2727 wrote:I just got the same CD pack off ebay. But, in Monkey 1, it doesn't bypass the Copy Protect. Since it is a CD, it didn't come with the dial-a-pirate. Can anyone help?
I'm using 0.9.0 on Mac 10.4.6-PPC.
a few months ago i got this pack as well, at the time it wasnt yet supported, so i filed a bug report and added the md5's etc and it was added. I didnt really worry about the copy protection at the time as i had my dial-a-pirate from my pc version, but i can see how this could be a major problem for someone who doesnt have the dial. I am also pretty sure that the mac pack didnt originally come with any copy protection in the box (i could be wrong as i never used a mac back in the day, but everything ive seen up to this point about the mac pack has been without copy protection, unless its in the manual, which is possible)
anyways support for this version was added in between 0.8.2 and the latest release (0.9.0 just to unnessisarily add additional information ) by some quick work by fingolfin (thanks again)
EDIT:
@clone2727 to get this version working in 0.8.2 add this to your scummvm.ini under the configuation for SMI mac pack (or whatever)
target_md5=2ccd8891ce4d3f1a334d21bff6a88ca2
but have a dial a pirate handy

I didn't realize it was the 256 color version- I thought that was only made for the PC.
Scroll down to the different versions and tell us if the sound is better than the PC version
No, it's worse than the CD version I have.Raziel wrote:http://www.worldofmi.com/thegames/monkey1/index.phpclone2727 wrote:Okay, I got a little creative. I used boot params to get past the protect.
