Have you checked that the "Save Path" setting points to a writable folder? I don't remember if the Simon engine prints any visible message when failing to save.

Did you try to load from within ScummVM?
Or looked for the save game on your HD?

Oh, what an idiot. I've forgotten to change the "Save Path" when I transfered all my files in a new empty folder.
