I may be missing a few things, but from what I remember...SamuelAndMaxwell wrote:Content wise.
There are (at least) two different floppy versions: One 16-colour version, and one 256-colour version. I haven't seen the 16-colour version myself, so I can't speak for it. The CD version, of course, uses 256 colours.
The interface is slightly different. The floppy version uses text for the inventory, while the CD version uses images of the objects. They also have a slightly different set of verbs. The floppy version has twelve (Open, Close, Push, Pull, Walk to, Pick up, Talk to, Give, Use, Look at, Turn on and Turn off) while the CD version has nine (Give, Open, Close, Pick up, Look at, Talk to, Use, Push and Pull). The CD version feels a bit more polished to me.
The floppy version uses MIDI or Adlib music, while the CD version uses CD audio. The CD version has a couple of extra tracks (some of which are unused), and some tracks that are used as background sound (waves, bird cries, etc). On the other hand, I think the floppy version plays a few bars of the Indiana Jones theme at one point, and the CD version doesn't.
The floppy version has the "stump joke". The first time you examine a particular stump in the forest maze, the floppy version will tell you:
Hey!
There's a hole at the base of this stump!
Wow! It's a tunnel that opens onto a system of catacombs!
I think I can squeeze through--
Insert Disk 22 and Press Button to Continue.
Insert Disk 36 and Press Button to Continue.
Insert Disk 114 and Press Button to Continue.
Oh, well. I guess I can't go down there.
I'll just have to skip that part of the game.
In the CD version, it's "Just a regular old stump." though references to the stump joke appear in both Monkey Island 2 and Monkey Island 3.
From what I remember, the CD version was fully supported while the floppy versions still had several glitches, so yes, it's supported.SamuelAndMaxwell wrote:Does the cd version run in scummvm?

Scroll down to see screenshots from different versions
The Amiga version was disk based, too, but degraded to 32 colors (from the 256 color version?)
they also left out the "stump joke".
The Amiga version had text for the inventory objects...
...and had the best music of all versions
