Must say Im not very impressed with the PPC version
of Scummvm.
I have played all previous game with pc and symbian
platforms.
Now I noticed suport for Broken swords, so I tried these.
And guess what, neither of them work!
Broken Sword 1, crashes like reported in one thread and bug report
was found too.
Broken Sword 2, complains about missing scripts.clu, even when the file is there. Saw a bug report about that too.
Now heres the question when or ever will these _major_ problems whit the mentioned games will be fixed?
When will BS1 & BS2 be fixed?

if you are "not impressed" with open source software, nobody is stopping you from providing a patch to fix itkeimonen wrote:Must say Im not very impressed with the PPC version

also the usual answer to questions starting with "when" is "when it's done"
I'm not the PocketPC port maintainer, so I can't answer these questions for you.
[plug]But, if it really bothers you that much you can always consider purchasing this version[/plug]

Thank for this utterly useless reply.clem wrote: also the usual answer to questions starting with "when" is "when it's done"
I dont provide patches, cause I dont have time to write them.
People who dont have time to spend on opensource projects, should
not try, imho.
And yes, my first post was a bit hostile, long day at work, etc.
But nonetheless, it would be nice to see estimates, or even the info
if the current developer/bug assignee is even working on the problems.
And about the re-release of BS1, good idea and a good tip, but
I dont like to buy my games twice.
(Yes, I have bought the game eons agoy, long lost since, but still)

People never cease to amaze me. If you were ready to admit that your first post was a bit hostile, why compound the problem with the 'utterly useless reply' post. Seems that one hostile reply deserves another.
If it wasn't lost on you, everyone concerned with this project puts in a lot of free time to make it work. Porting ScummVM to Windows Mobile/PPC is no mean task considering the diversity of hardware out there now. Just be thankful that anyone is doing this at all. Earlier versions of ScummVM work pretty well with Broken Sword 1&2- why not try them.

a stupid question deserves a stupid answerkeimonen wrote:Thank for this utterly useless reply.clem wrote:also the usual answer to questions starting with "when" is "when it's done"keimonen wrote: Now heres the question when or ever will these _major_ problems whit the mentioned games will be fixed?
but if you really want to know:
the fixing of all issues, bugs and _major_ problems is scheduled for some thursday, it might be at about 11AM. Of course I might be wrong, but feel free to prove it
Re: When will BS1 & BS2 be fixed?
Inquiring about the time, when the possible fix might be coming, clem wrote: a stupid question deserves a stupid answer
is not a stupid question in my books.
I would think the developer has some idea when he has time to work on
the project and how is the certain bug priorised compared to other
similiar problems.
But thats all for now. Too much time spent on childless pickery allready.
