Curse of Monkey Island not working

Post by Shrapnelwolf »

Curse of Monkey Island works fine up until you have to switch to the Disk 2 portion, at which point the help console comes up and the game freezes. I have copied all the files to the hard drive, and I run it from there. Help. :(

If the debug console appears, it should contain some sort of error message. While it may not appear to make much sense, it would at least be a hint on where things go wrong...

@ Shrapnelwolf: What language is it? Have you compressed the game files (using the scummvm tools)?

I had such an error in an earlier version of ScummVM, are you sure you're using the latest build?

It's the music for the second half of the game, and should be in the resource folder on the second CD. (As explained in the README, CD swapping is unsupported, or at the very least not well tested, so it's recommended that you copy all the necessary files to your hard disk.)

Umm.. I have another problem. :( When you try to use the pin and the cork to make a compass, the game crashes.

Hmmm... it worked for me. Try magnetizing the pin first.

I'd suggest filing a bug report. That way, you can attach a nearby savegame, as well, which makes it easier for others to try and reproduce it.

Did you try putting the pin in the cork before magnetizing it?

as far as I know every needed file should be on your original CDs, unlike some other engines CoMI doesn't need additional files to be downloaded
