Menu not working in Simon

Hello, I had a check around the forums and couldn't see and answer to my question, so maybe its just something I'm doing wrong. I have a 6630 and have used both the v2 build and the svn version and am still having the same problem. I cannot send the enter key to the game, nor can I select the menu via the * key. I have seen in other topics that enter should be the left soft key which acts as left click on my phone (I'm assuming the left soft key is the key to the left of the 4-way pad). No other key I have pressed can do the same job. While I can change key mode I cannot enter characters (because enter does not work), nor can I save the game which is obviously a bit problem for me.

It does not seem to effect other games: day of the tentacle works fine and I can select the menu by using the * key. Any help would be great.

The menu in Simon games is accessed through using your postcard.
