Simon 1 & 2 on ScummVM DS
First I wanna say thanks agentq for porting ScummVM to the DS. When I first heard of the touch screnn, I thought 'wouldn't it be awesome to play those old adventure games on it'? And here we are now
I can get most games to work perfectly, but I have problems with Simon 1 & 2:
I can't get Simon 2 to work on ScummVM DS at all. I tried the non-talkie version on G6Lite (Flashcart method) and the talkie version on Supercard CF (GBAMP method). Both result in two black screens with the mouse symbol visible on the top screen and then nothing happens.
According to the official site it should work with build b. Has anyone gotten it to actually work on any device?
Simon 1 non-talkie works perfectly. The talkie-version also works perfectly. The only issue is that in the intro when Simon reads Calypso's letter you hear strange noises instead of Simon's voice. Is this a known bug or am I doing something wrong?

Yes, as you discovered, Simon 2 doesn't work. I need to remove it from the list of compatible games on the ScummVM DS page.
The audio for Calypso's letter is a bit of a problem for my port, as the audio is very long and doesn't fit in memory. I put in a check so that the audio doesn't play if there's no enough memory to load the speech. It should play silence but it's quite possible it plays some random rubbish instead. I'll take a look into it.

I would suggest you post up a bug on bugzilla here:
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_i ... tid=418820
Then one of the coders for the Simon engine will get to it.
Please be as detailed as possible on how to reproduce it, and perhaps even include a savegame just before the crash.

I'm having a problem with Simon 1, i own the cd version and i also own a G6lite.
I tried copying these files from the DOS folder:
EFFECTS.VOC
GAMEPC
ICON.DAT
SIMON.GME
STRIPPED.TXT
TBLLIST
The game opens and works with the music and sound effect, but there is no subtitles when they talk, which i need since G6lite rules out the talkie option.
also i must mention that pressing the start button does not open the "save load etc.." menu
I tried to play around with the options marking "enable subtitles" and so with no result.
Thanks to whomever is willing to check this out.
