BASS completely liberated (?)
It seems that Beneath a Steel Sky has now been completely liberated, meaning that both data files, original DOS executables and full source code are now publicly available for free.
The announcement (sort of) was apparently made here: http://www.liberatedgames.com/forums/in ... 0&goto=409

Anyways, it really would have been nice from ScummVM to include the complete CD.
You also include the exes of the demos and even the exps from the FMTOWNS demos for example.
I can't see your concerns here.
It would have really been nice to see a full version by ScummVM out there, because for me ScummVM simply stands for the quality and the safety of the download.
Best regards
Joachim

Google is paying for ads too so why shouldn't we?
What I mean is that everything depends on the license those products were contributed on, so if this license says that this demo is to be contributed between 2000 and 2001 that's the way the license handles it.
Even demos can have different licenses!

You shouldn't take him too serious.
He admits it here:

BTW: ScummVM <-> Original EXEs
Is there any possibility that someone could write a "savegame converter", i.e. that I could play on an oldskool PC at home under DOS 6.2 but later get the savegames on a USB stick for use on a modern ScummVM laptop?
Or are the ScummVM savegames (or the originals for that matter) much of a hack, and it would be quite enormous work to do something like that?!
