Apparently MI1 and MI2 were released on a PC Gamer coverdisc
(Pc gamer July 1997 Disc 3.4), According to a website i
read, MI2 was modified so it only included the Mega Monkey
mode.
Everything I have found tells me that PC Gamer struck up a
deal with Lucasarts and that you needed to purchase a
keycode to play these games, If I manage to track down a
copy of the coverdisc and contact the relevant people to get
a keycode(obviously to only validate my games) will they run
via scummvm?
has anyone looked at these before?
Thanks
Rob

Omission of the difficulty selection screen is a side-effect of skipping the copy protection in MI2 (which is what's done in this version, as obviously the original manual isn't included with the game).
Other than this, the MI2 version is identical to the regular PC floppy version.
ScummVM still shows the copy protection screen (even though the actual protection is disabled - it accepts any input) so that you are able to select the difficulty.
