Other games than point'n'click for ScummVM ?

Post by adam0509 »

Hi,

Is there gonna be other games than point'n'click on ScummVM ?

I'd like to see some old games like "Lemmings" or "The incredible machine", is it possible that one day we could get them on ScummVM ?

Thanks in advance !

go henceforth and read the mighty FAQ:

http://www.scummvm.org/faq.php#AEN32

and afaik ScummVM will continue to focus just on point & click games

use dosbox or other engine re-creations for other games

Funny question since "Lemmings" and also "The incredible machine" acually are in fact point'n'click games.

For the question of ScummVM supporting them, I don't think so, as they are no adventure games.

There already is:
ScummVM supports Simon the Sorcerer's Puzzle Pack.

As well as several arcade games from Humongous Entertainment. But the AGOS and SCUMM engines were already in ScummVM to begin with, making it relatively easy to support these games.

I can make a clear statement: We won't add support for non-adventure games or non-2d-graphical adventures, *unless* they are very low hanging fruits, i.e. are built upon an adventure engine we already support and adding support for those games is easy. That covers the Simon Puzzle pack, or the HE arcade games. But we won't add engines that are not primarily focused on supporting graphical adventures. Period.

I second Fingolfin's post. New engines are accepted only if they're 2D adventures (say, AGI wasn't pure point and click in its first versions). If then some engine is used for non-adventures (same AGI has a Tetris clone), we could add them, but that's not the rule.
