Why can't I post here?

Post by lwc »

Yes, I know it's a paradox because you're reading this...but I'm talking about a certain post. Maybe it's certain words I use or something. I'm trying to post a really important info and it says it's spam.

I've PMed the head admin "Ender" but he doesn't read my PM. Can any other admin PM me and I'll PM them what can't be posted (it works in the PM system)?

As of your message, we have number of words which so far were used only in spam messages. And if your message is so important, e-mail it to scummvm-devel.

usually only automated spam gets deleted, but you don't seem like an automated bot to me :)

violation of forum rules usually just gets you a snappy reply and a locked thread the first time around

in short, no idea what happened, but then again I'm not an admin.

Thanks for confirming my belonging to the human race. :)
e-mail it to scummvm-devel.
At scummvm.org?
What about that dictatorial rule? Plus it contradicts the whole "PM us if your post is denied" message...

Postings that violate our rules, in particular runle #0, do get locked or deleted w/o prior warning -- the poster should have read and followed the rules, after all.

No idea where you got that "PM us if your post is denied" bit -- it definitely is not from the forum rules, and simply does not apply to this forum in general. E.g. I do not read any PMs on this forum.

Your post was identified as Spam. If this is in error, please contact a moderator with the text of your message.
But there's no link to such a moderator...that's why I tried "Ender" - the lead moderator, but he/she doesn't read their PMs.

Uhh... and where does that "quote" come from?

I assume that ender installed some word-filter which will give you this error message if words like "viagra" turn up in a post

(oddly enough I could post this message :)

Yeah, the anti-spam patch does print that message by default if a post is rejected.

Looking at the log (and nice try spelling the word 'abandonware' differently :), it was rejected because of the word 'commercial'. Since that word does tend to come up a lot around here, I've removed it for now.

(PPS: In response to your message, before you post it, that clause does NOT make abandonware legal in any way, nor does it affect COPYRIGHT. It simply removes the extra protection of the DMCA against skipping various forms of copy protection.)

I was already told that by now. But I still think it was worth mentioning.
