Loom FM-Towns Trouble

Post by jackcmedia »

When I try to run the FM-Towns version of Loom, the game uses track*.mp3 files from other FM-Towns or CD version games that I have (mostly SOMI1 track files).

Maybe it happens because Loom doesn't have it's track files (I cannot find 'em to convert 'em).

Just to mention that. Sorry about my bad english.

What do you mean, you "can't find the tracks"?

I don't have the FMTowns version of Loom, but i own Indy 3 FMTowns and the tracks
are there...just put your Loom FMTowns CD into a CD player, it should play the tracks.
Now get a MP3 encoder and copy/encode the tracks from CD to your HD, voilà...

btw, i'd always put the games in it's own subdir, you can't overwrite files (tracks) then

I mean I cannot find any audio file of any format in the CD.
And I have FM-Loom in it's own subdir.

the cd-audio tracks are not immediately visible (in Windows, you can see shortcuts to them). You need to rip them with a tool like Windows Media Player or CDex or similar

OK, then, take @md5's advice and rip the tracks from your CD, place them into your
FMTowns Loom subdir on the HD and off you go... :-)

You were right. Now I have them and I can hear FM-Loom's music. Thanks.

But I still think that the game playing other games tracks when both have their own subdirectory is strange.
