Hello all,
I currently have been trying to copy Broken Sword Shadow of the Templars from CD1 to my hard drive. I have the Sold-Out version of the game. I am using windows XP and my dvd burner is an NEC. I get the following error: Can not copy file: cannot read from the source file or disk. Well, It seemed that maybe the disc was just bad, but no...I borrowed the same disc from my friend and tried it on both my computers. Same thing happened. Does Window XP have a problem reading the format of the disc? I find it hard to believe that both discs are bad. For loading purposes I would like to play the game off of my hard drive rather than from the CD.

this could be a problem with the CD drive (too fast? incompatible with older CDs?)
you could try copying the files at your friend's place to some USB stick and moving them to your computer
someone on the forum had a similar problem with BASS but I don't think that was ever solved

for multi-CD games copying all the data to HD is the recommended procedure anywaymikojoem wrote:For loading purposes I would like to play the game off of my hard drive rather than from the CD.
