Curse of Monkey Island on m600i

Post by oksehud »

Hey, been playing monkey 1 & 2, fate of atlantis and day of the tentacle without problems (well except for the known vertical scroll bug..)

-But when I try playing Curse of Monkey Island, it crashes as soon as I have chosen the difficulty level.

Can anyone confirm, that the game is working on the m600i ?

I have a nagging feeling, that the m600i just doesn't pack enough memory.. :(

WHoo.. you managed to start it? Thats a first for a 640x480 game requireing at least twice the amount of memory than you have free on your phone. So just starting it, is MORE than I ever has seen on any phone.

So no.. not really supported.. And wont be for a while...until we get phones with higher resolution, faster and more memory.

I tried the demo version of curse of monkey island and it starts allright and scales correctly to the m600i display size. An SDL error is generated the first time one of the characters talks no matter if I use speech or subtitle. The subtitle is a little difficult to read because of the downscale. The emulator crashes shortly after I begin to move the character around.

I noticed that it was running faster on 9.1 compared to the SVN version. But it was also crashing faster on the 9.1 version ;)

It would be really cool if it could work on the m600i, the graphics look really good as it uses the whole display size.

Yeah, the same thing happens for me when running the demo version......
But the full version only goes to the difficulty level selection screen, then ......
