Is there a possibility to fast port to symbian s60 [ for instance for S60v1 ] DosBox using SDL libs. AFAIK SDL libs are full ported on symbian, and DosBox SDL uses full SDL builds, so can it be done ?
Sure it can be done, but.. dos box is a pc emulator, so would n't be very fast on a N-Gage, also there might problems with in DosBox as such, which keeps it from running or even compiling properly for symbian os.
Formally i286/8mhz is less powerfull machine than for instance Snes or Genesis, and i think less complicated. Emulating GPU [ like genesis processor], Motorola 68000 [main cpu in genesis runnin ad 8Mhz] and SPU [Yamaha YM2612] is more dificult than emulate i286 with standard EGA/CGA [ or even VGA] card with PC Speaker [or without PCSpeak.]. Of course i dont mean i could do that, cause i dont have enough abilites, but... if we have good PicoDrive emulator then we could have DosBOX with custom 286-only emulating.
This is the wrong place to talk about this. Go to the dosbox forums and ask there. But I recommend you do it in a somewhat more humble fashion -- like, ask them whether they think it's possible. Do *not* tell them how you already know it must be possible, even though you lack the ability to do it yourself (which makes it rather questionable whether you are fit to judge this in the first place).
