subtitle text is too fast on n800

I just tried to play monkey2 on the nokia n800, with the scummVM 0.9.1 / IT2007 build from this site:

I turned the text speed down to 0, but the subtitle text still goes by too fast. I can usually read a single line of text, if my eyes aren't on the graphics, but phrases of two or more lines rush right past me. The animation and music speed seem okay. Does anyone know how to further slow down the text?

Try the other direction. I haven't used the subtitle speed setting myself but, confusingly, it appears that lower values actually mean faster, not slower.
