"Not officially supported" games question

Post by Koyder »

In the Games section of the ScummVM wiki there are games like "Goblins 3", "Woodruff..." or "Hand of Fate" listed. The Support section of their descriptions contains the following statement:
Not officially supported. A WIP engine is available in our SVN repository
Does that mean the games will be eventually supported by ScummVM or shall I abandon my hopes?

Thank you in advance for answering my question!

Hello
What it means is that right now in the official actual release of ScummVM (currently 0.9.1), support isn't in there for those games.

It is in the most recent code, but in an unfinished state, and the games will be supported "officially" as soon as the code is more finished and the game is at least completeable (right now, I don't think the code will do too much, it might load some rooms but nothing else)

These are works in progress and once more development is done, I'm sure the authors/maintainers will let us know.

Hope this helps

Probably, though there's no telling when it'll happen.

Currently, Goblins 3 appears to be playable, but don't be surprised if it crashes or if there are missing features. There was a recent thread about it. Hand of Fate only plays part of the intro, though there were some recent news about that as well. Woodruff doesn't even start yet.

you could just download the SVN build and try :)

Hand of Fate currently only shows parts of the intro
not sure how far Gob and Woodruff gets

those games might eventually be supported, just don't hold your breath
