[Ubuntu 6.10] ScummVM installs but won't run

Post by Tapanez »

Hi all. Yesterday installed ScummVM on my Ubuntu 6.10 (64 bits) with no problem, so was ready to probe. Opened succesfully but i had no game to load at that moment so I closed ScummVM. Later I went to probe again but received an error, something like "file or directory not found" :?

So I made an apt-get remove scummvm and re-installed again, but the error is still the same. I can see Scumm's link at my Apps/Games folder but won't run.

What am I doing wrong?

Thank you for your help.

Have you tried running "scummvm" in a terminal? Is that where you get the error, or do you get it when you try and run it from the menu?

I've also tried running in a terminal, but it seems like ScummVM is not installed. It's very strange.

Are there any errors when apt is removing / reinstalling? I've never installed ScummVM this way, so I'm not sure where it's supposed to put its files... anyone else know?

Desempaquetando scummvm (de .../scummvm_0.9.1-1_amd64.deb) ...
Configurando scummvm (0.9.1-1) ...

Judging by this page, the application itself should be at /usr/games/scummvm

Yes! Now I can change the menu entry in order to link to the correct file. But don't know why it worked first and not after.

Applications/Games/ScummVM link is pointing only to "scummvm".

Thank you very much!
