DOTT / Sam & Max

Post by Redhairedguy »

I got the two of these on one disc off ebay, but when i went to use with my ScummVM, it can't find it!

I'm running Scumm off my mac, and I've already installed Monkey Island 3 and Full Throttle with no problem.

On the disc it only shows two .exe files. Sam & Max and Day of the Tentacle nothing else.

Anyone know why this so?

Thanks.

EDIT: I ran the both on my PC without SCUMM and it works perfectly... So unless it's a newly updated version that works on XP... I don't know. Me still confused!

Er, it seems you're talking about this pack:

But then, from what you're saying, it seems that both games are compressed into self-extracting exe files. I don't think that Lucasarts would pack their games in such files. Are you sure you got an original disk and not some homebrew collection?

that's the pack alright.

The disc seems to be legit, but then again, could just be a good labelling job.

do you reckon it's a no show then?

Are there only those two executable files in the disk? No other file or folder? If there's only those two, I really think this is a copied disk, but then again, I could be wrong. Was it boxed? Check underneath the CD: is it silver (original) or golden/green (copy)?

The copy I have of that compilation includes the following files in the discs root folder:

DOTT (folder)
SAMNMAX (folder)
AUTORUN.INI
BOOTMKR.EXE
DOTT.BAT
DOTTSAM.EXE
GRIM.TXT
GRIMOVIE.EXE
README.TXT
SAM.BAT

In case anyone's wondering, the GRIMOVIE file is a trailer for Grim Fandango, and GRIM.TXT is just the system requirements needed to run GRIMOVIE.
