Problems with Touche

Post by SchodMC »

Hi there,

I got problems starting Touche with the current SVN build. ScummVM brings me the following message:
Looking for touche
Trying to start game 'Touche: The Adventures of the Fifth Musketeer'
Your game version appears to be unknown. Please, report the following data to the ScummVM team along with name of the game you tried to add and its version/language/etc.:

touche.dat.: 'be2ae6454b3325e410946f2322547cd4', 26625537
touche.dat: 'be2ae6454b3325e410946f2322547cd4', 26625537

Your game version has been detected using filename matching as a variant of touche. If this is an original and unmodified version, please report any information previously printed by ScummVM to the team.

Assertion failed: chr >= 32 && chr < 32 + _fontSize, file engines/touche/graphics.cpp, line 62

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.
I have the CD Version of Touche with german text & subtitles as well as english subtitles (as I know) and english voice output. Any idea?

Sounds similar to this bug report about the Spanish version. Perhaps filing a similar bug report for the German version would help.

Apparently, the Touché engine currently uses the French font data for the German version. There's a "TODO: dump the charset data in the original german version executable. For now, just re-use the french charset data (it contains the "eszett" character" comment.

Ok, I've added a bug report.

BTW, can I switch the Languagefile of the subtitles to use? Never mind what I set, Touche always seems to use the german subtitles. I whant to try out if I can change it inside Touches options menu, but I won't come as far enough to test it. :(

I couldn't say for sure, but probably not. While there are some exceptions, most games that ScummVM supports contain only one set of subtitles.
