MT-32 Emu back to life (+ some digitally extracted goodness)

Post by zorbid »

The developpement of the MT-32 emu had stalled because King Guppy was unable to improve it without digitally ripped samples to fine tune the synth...

To view/play back using Audacity, do the following:
  • Unzip MI2-Intro-Excerpt.raw
  • File|Import...|Raw Data...
  • Choose unzipped file
  • Set options:
    • Signed 16-bit PCM
    • Big-endian
    • 8 Channels
    • Start offset: 0 bytes
    • Amount to import: 100 %
    • Sample rate: 32000 Hz
  • Click "Import"
Note: I haven't yet checked for errors, this is just the very first semi-successful capture I've managed.
Please note that this isn't the output of the emu, just the digitally ripped output of the mt-32 itself. Sounds great nonetheless...

There is a site I have seen in the past with maybe some 30 sample tracks from the MT, some of them quite extensive, I will see if i can find the address in my research files. Great effort on this btw. :)

OK< here is a Roland SCC-1 set of files for the Ultima Games, will keep looking for more.
