Anyone know where to find original DOS ITE demo?

Post by marzipan »

Yes, it's rare demo collecting time again! ;)

The only place I've found that claims to have it is this site. But it won't let you access any files unless you're a subscriber to that Finnisg magazine it's mainly about. Can anyone help out with any suggestions or alternate sources?

I have access to that site. I downloaded the INHERDEM.ZIP. Is this the file you are looking for? Where do you want me to put it? I can send it by email, for example.

Ooooh cheers please! Could you send me ITEPIX.ZIP from that site too out of interest? :) Send to marzsyndrome at gmail dot com.

Since you appear to be the only person I've discovered who can download off that site, I might ask you for a few more favours later in time as that place appears to be the exclusive host of quite a lot of rare stuff that I've been annoyed over not being able to get. ;)

Why not just register for direct download access? try https://www.mbnet.fi/hallinta/uusi/henkilotiedot.aspx

Shouldn't be too difficult, with help of http://www.fincd.com/

Last I asked around for help with the site, I was told you had to be a paid subscriber to that MikroBitti magazine or something before you could access their files.

Nowadays it's possible to obtain these keys to access the online resources of the magazine without having to be a subscriber.

Hmmmmm, ScummVM seems to recognise it enough to give it a proper name on the list..... but it can't run it.

A whole load of WARNING messages pop up in the console, and eventually ScummVM quits out with this error:

Code: Select all

WARNING: Frame List ID = 0 for actor index 177!
WARNING: Frame List ID = 0 for actor index 178!
WARNING: Frame List ID = 0 for actor index 179!
WARNING: Resource::getResourceData() wrong resourceId 1538!
Assertion failed: 0, file ./engines/saga/rscfile.h, line 153

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Yes, original ITE DOS demo is not supported (yet). Grab Windows demo (or Linux, or Mac OS X) from www.wyrmkeep.com.
