Simon The Sorcerer Acorn version not recognised anymore?

Post by marzipan »

It definitely used to detect the files properly on my original CD. Strange.

These are the checksums if needed:

Full Version - "data", "64958b3a38afdcb85da1eeed85169806", 6943110

Demo Version - "data", "b4a7526ced425ba8ad0d548d0ec69900", 1237886

It doesn't even recognise the copy of the demo found over at Quick'N'Easy. What's going on? I'm using today's SVN build.

The Acorn versions of Simon the Sorcerer 1 are still supported. All the data files must be in a single directory though.

Ah, I see. So basically it only throws a strop if some of the smaller files are in that EXECUTE subdirectory? I wonder why the recent structure change though?

The file-list details in the Wiki still mention the EXECUTE directory btw.

If you want to keep the original directory structure, you need to add the game to the config file manually.

This has always been a limitation of the current game detection.
