Which smartphone should I chose?

Post by Deathraw »

Hi everybody!I'm from Poland so i don't have a lot of money to buy a new smartphone and i want it to run a scummvm with games like broken sword and simon the sorcerer which will be good?I am thinking about n-gage,6600,36xx,sx1.Is it possible to run the games with sound, videos speeches and subtitles on those smartphones?I choose those phones because they are the cheapest used s60.i am also want to do much else on my phone like listening mp3,watching videos and playing games(ngage games too).So please help with choosing my new toy:D

A used 6630/6680 would be ideal, otherwise SX1 I guess (good memory and abit quicker than the rest). NGage works kind a.. But quite slow.

I bought my new N-Gage here in sweden for around $100 with 5 games with it. Used.. around $40-$80 I would take it.

And scumm works with no problems on n-gage?I'm afraid to buy phones from other countries because they can have brand soft which useing more power, ram, procesor and there is possible that there will be problems with simlock breaking.
Used 6680 cost over 150$ and 6630 over 130$ and there is too much.I have from my parents and grandpa 25$ per mounth so it is much for me.

The N-Gage is abit slow, but it depends on the game you want to run. Without music most of the old ones are playable. (0.9.1 version)

Broken Sword is absolutly nono on ALL current Symbian phones. Possible phones for that would be E90 and P1i (E90 best). These are VGA games (640x480 ) and pre S60v3 phones only have 176x208 resolution. Also the hit on memory is quite high.

Simon The Sorcerer would be ok on N-Gage, SX1, without any BGM and no speech. I tried Gobliiins on my N-Gage and it seemed to be playable.

I was using father's palm mio p550 or something like that and there was everything good with framerate but there was many crashes:D.The one make that I couldn't close a fire in first location at smoking mirror(coursor something error). The simon had runned only intro but in Polish:D and crashed but it was a few time and versions ago so I was playing only on old version of scumm.e90 adn p1 rox but the price is not for me:D.Had you heard about Jack Orlando? It will be fine if it will be on compatibility list at next scumm:).
