Have not tested with 0.10b1 yet, but on 0.9.1a at least MM-NES runs at approximately 0.3 fps on your port.
Is it down to limited resources/memory again, or a different reason?

Music is the reason. It uses accurate NES sound chip emulator with CPU requirements around 700MHz or so.

And so it's active at all times and not just when music plays, hence the slowdown even with silence? Damn.

we can get 700MHz from a chick pea now a days, what kind of machine do you have?

On a wild guess, I'd say he has a Nintendo DS. I don't know how much difference there is between models.

we can get 700MHz from a chick pea now a days, what kind of machine do you have?
In case you don't realise, the DS is 66Mhz with 4Mb of RAM. Somewhat less than a chickpea then.
