Speech Problem in the Curse of Monkey Island

Post by Gospel rocker »

Excuse me, but I've just recently found out how to play MI3, but I haven't been able to get speech on first disk (the part of the game that corresponds the the first disk). I can get the VOXDISK1.BUN downloaded fully, and the game doesn't terminate as before, when I could only get part of the file, but the speech still doesn't work, please help if you can.

Forum rule #0...?

Sounds like you downloaded MI3 online somewhere, in which case the file is probably corrupted. Go buy the game :)

He does not say that he downloaded off the internet, but off the discs (as in his original post).

Also, as in the original post, PsYcO suggested that you use a CD cleaner. If that doesn't work, buy a new copy.

Your best bet is a little program called ISOBUSTER (Google it). It is designed to read knackered discs by any means possible and it works! It was the only way I was able to play Broken Sword 1.

For me, i didnt use scummvm to play the curse of monkey island. I have xp and what i had to do is type dxdiag in the run command and then click the sound tab and put the setting on basic or no acceleration. If i didnt do this cutscenes and other things would go bezerk. Let me know if this helps.
