The subtitles were never shown in the original versions of The Feeble Files, so it isn't surprising that they were not translated.

There are 229 videos in the 2CD Windows version of The Feeble Files.

There are 238 videos in the 4CD Windows version of The Feeble Files.

I have do it and you can view it in the README of Scumm-Tools.
Don't think, do it :D

From Readme:
convert_dxa.bat
convert_dxa_one.bat

To ease your life we also provide batch files to autoconvert all files.
It should work with any game version.
1. Copy *.smk files from all CDs to some directory
2. Edit paths in convert_dxa.bat file.
3. Run the batch. If you set everything correct, it will be almost unattended conversion, just for several files there are no audio, and RAD Game Tools converter will ask you to press OK

That's all !
OK, i need help so because i haven't a good result with this method. This is my folders and subfolders:

d:\feeble
d:\feeble\tools (convert_dxa is here)
d:\feeble\dxa
d:\feeble\smk

And the new paths in "convert_dxa" :

SET TOOLS_PATH=D:\feeble\tools
SET BINK_PATH=C:\Program Files\RADVideo
SET SMK_PATH=D:\feeble\smk
SET DXA_PATH=D:\feeble\dxa

There is only winasoft.smk in smk folder. When i lauch convert_dxa, that's create a blank dxa file in \tools with 0kb and many ~nxxx.png files in \smk folder (xxx is the numbers).

So, that's dont create a good DXA file in the good folder and that's rename PNG files because if i extracted SMK files with RAD, that's let the good filename (winasoftxxx.png is this example) :(

And why make me PNG files if this tool make DXA files directly ?

Now this is strange. I'm no Windows user (which is one reason I haven't replied to this until now), but surely it's supposed to create PNG files named winasoftxxx.png? It's as if the %~n1 part of the batch file was never expanded, and I assume it was meant to. My knowledge of Windows batch files is severely limited.

The tool doesn't make the DXA files directly. The way it's supposed to work is that it uses the Rad Game Tools to decode the Smacker movie into PNG files, one for each frame, and a WAV file for the sound.

Then the encode_dxa tool re-encodes the frames into a DXA movie, and compresses the WAV file to Ogg Vorbis. At this stage, it only looks briefly at the original Smacker file to get some information about frame rate, etc.

Then it's supposed to delete the temporary files, i.e. the PNG and WAV files, and move the resulting DXA file to the DXA path.

I think.

There are 238 videos in the english 4CD version together with disk1.smk, disk2.smk, disk3.smk, disk4.smk. But this 4 diskX.smk files aren't needed (as eriktorbjorn said on the previous site), no need to convert them to dxa. Without this unused 4 files there are 234 video files.
Below a list of video, audio and vga files of the english 4CD version of "The Feeble Files" needed by ScummVM.

Another question:
If I play 'FeebleFiles' with ScummVM, there are english subtitles if one speaks.
I didn't know at all that there were subtitles in the original version.
Why are english and not german!
It's the same with my german 4CD version of "The Feeble Files". German speech, german description of items, the whole oracle in german language, but english subtitles for the speech.

The subtitles were never shown in the original versions of The Feeble Files, so it isn't surprising that they were not translated.
That means the subtitles are a product of the ScummVM Developers and are all delivered within ScummVM software?

I have the german 4CD version from "The Feeble Files" aka "Floyd - Es gibt noch Helden".
-> There are only 228 .smk files, too
The german 4CD version of "The Feeble Files" contains 224 video files that are needed in ScummVM. You have 228, because you copied the 4 diskX.smk files, which aren't needed.

The subtitles are included in the data files, but there isn't any way to display the subtitles under the original version of The Feeble Files.
