Newb Q, regarding Monkey Island etc on ScummVM

Post by oneshotdead »

Hi guys,

Newb here, just downloaded Beneath a Steel Sky. Seems to work perfectly, I think the program (ScummVM) is excellent.

Downloaded the 70MB or so, copied the files into C:\Program Files\ScummVM, what could be simpler?

Anyway, the games I REALLY wanna play under ScummVM are, of course, the three Monkey Island games, Day of the Tentacle, Sam and Max, and Indiana Jones.

I cannot find these games freely downloadable like BaSK. I presume these ones must be purchased?

If so, how should I buy them (what packages?), and will they run under ScummVM or are they stand-alone?

Note I am in Australia, and can find nothing here!

Thanks for any advice! Cheers!

Yes, you must buy them. Check out eBay.

all the games you mentioned will run under ScummVM, just like Beneath a Steel Sky

just like Beneath a Steel Sky, Flight of the Amazon Queen can also be downloaded freely

you can often find the Lucasarts games on eBay; recently some games have been re-released (Full Throttle, CoMI), not sure if they can be found in Australia though

CoMI, Full Throttle, Sam & Max and The Dig can all be bought in Australia as part of the "Lucasarts Classics" range. JB Hi-Fi is a pretty reliable place to find them. If you're really stuck, try http://www.gameswarehouse.com.au
