Monkey Island record feature?

Post by SimSaw »

Seeing that the demo of Monkey Island 2 uses a recorded file, I remembered something about a record feature for Monkey Island 1 (and maybe also for Monkey Island 2) in original DOS. Is there indeed something or is my memory wrong?

there was a possibility to record movies in the original DOS version of (at least) monkey2 - but that isn't implemented in ScummVM (also afaik the reason why the monkey2 demo isn't supported)

hold on, movies? at the time weren't HDD like at max 1GB? wouldn't movies be a bit impractical at that size?

No, it recorded movements and such.

Besides, there is a feature request somewhere that says more about it.

In the original interpreter:

Shift-F9 to record
Shift-F10 to play recorded file

But I doubt this also works in ScummVM...

Interesting side note: SNIP contained information to bypass copyprotection

Those site notes maybe be _interessting_ but they don't belong in here.
