No picture in the touchscreen, unable to start games.

Post by leaphion »

So, I downloaded ScummVM DS 0.10.0a and got it installed to my SuperCard Lite successfully (after a bit of a hassle). Now I open my DS and try to boot the scummvm-a.nds and it DOES load it, which is kinda nice. Then there's the information about the controls and the last messages are: DLDI Driver initialized OK!

So. Now what?

Under the text there's a blank screen and pushing any buttons or the screen any way doesn't seem to help any way. It's almost like it has frozen.

What to do?

Supercard lites can be a bit unreliable with DLDI apps.

Which DLDI are you using?

Is it this one? http://dldi.drunkencoders.com/index.php ... SD_Card%29

Would you suggest trying the other two drivers, or has there been reports of significantly better reliability with SC Lite?

Yeah, it didn't hurt. It didn't help either, unfortunately.

The scsd.dldi by cshicmhhm didn't work (said there was no file system to be found) but the scsd_moon.dldi worked exactly like the sclt.dldi. So I didn't see any menu after "DLDI Driver Initialized OK!"

I'd love to get this to work. :(

I experimented a lot with the previous release (0.9.0) and, sometimes, got the same error: lower screen was blank, no input. I was able to produce a fully working file with the newer version (http://forums.scummvm.org/viewtopic.php?t=4428).

Please, post the md5/sha of your file. I would like to compared it with my version.

Here's the md5 for the original without the dldi patch or any patch at all:
ae0c07840d95f8356bdd95394bde28d3 scummvm-a.ds.gba

Here's after sclt.dldi and SC patch (and renaming, so it would work with SC Lite...):
6f7e4cb3db7c1223fd6ee5617083ff4f scummvm-a-sclt.nds

Here's the md5sum after the scsd_moon.dldi:

tcamargo, I hope this is what you meant. :)

Yes, it is what I meant. ;)

Although the faq/doc says to use the ds.gba file, I use the nds file from the ScummVM archive. Just applied the dldi patch (sclt.dldi). The SC software is not necessary. In fact, it should not be used with any homebrew.

As soon as I get home, I will post the md5 of my files for your reference.

Well, that explains A LOT. :)

It's weird that it's not mentioned anywhere. I always presumed that all ROMs must be patched with it for them to work.

And, for the record, it works. Thank you for all who replied, and especially to agentq for such a MARVELLOUS work!!!!
