Autosaves

Post by sephim »

Is there any possible way to shorten or lengthen the time between autosaves in ScummVM? Sometimes, while I've been playing Curse Of Monkey Island ScummVM shuts down completely (without a chance for a screensave, not that I think it's a ScummVM problem anyway) - I am using the latest SVN version (I think, I don't check back all too often).

Edit: Turns out I'm not using the latest version. Not that it entirely pertains to my original question.

within the UI there is an option to change the auto save times, 5 10 15 mins, you want it shorter?

you would have to edit some code and re-compile for that. witch even for me should be a doddle.

A more interesting question, of course, is why ScummVM would crash at all. Are the crashes predictable, i.e. have you found any way to reliably make ScummVM crash?

If so, have you tried re-copying the data files from your CDs, in case they've somehow been corrupted and/or truncated.

If the problems persist, please file a bug report.

Have you set a savefile path in ScummVM's path configuration?

I am still pretty recently coming back from a fresh XP reinstall, so there's a lot of other things besides ScummVM that just shut down or crash for seemingly no reason. It may have had a small thing to do with my vidcard drivers not being updated until two nights ago.

Yeah, I've done that.

I've also updated to the Sept 30 SVN install, so maybe the problems will now be fixed.
