Loom Talkie version with track1 but no music ?

Hi,

one question please, i have the loom talkie version and the track01 works fine (speech) but no music on background wy ? , is that normal ?

Yes, the Loom CD version only has music during cutscenes or speech. This is because the music in question is CD audio, not MIDI, and there's only space for 60-70 minutes of audio on a CD, not counting the data track.

Well, there is plenty of space left on the CD. Actually, a CD can be about 78'30" within specs using the shortest allowed pits and the tightiest allowed track. Don't get tricked on Loom's absolute time either, as there also is about 45 MB unused space between the file system and the audio track.

It is more likely that the reason for the missing music is the fact that a CD can not play several cues at once, which would be the case if the game access the talky bits while playing a music track.
They could have left in the MT-32 tracks, but they didn't.
