how to begin
I just bought an Sony Ericsson P1i and a 4gb memory card. Now I love my old Broken Sword 1 & 2 and would love to play them on my phone with scummvm. Problem is im a total newbie to the whole symbian/uiq/scummvm scene. Is there anyone out there with a p1i that could answer in a few short steps how to install scummvm and get things running?

Anotherguest: I've been wondering for quite some time now - SCUMM as an engine is listed as "supported" for most phones in there, does that include the "harder" games like FT, DIG and CoMI in all cases? (since Sword games don't work due to "resolution" wouldn't the same apply to CoMI?)
clem, that depends on how strong, hardware-wise, your device is. For example, my SE W950 runs FT without problems whatsoever, The DIG starts but hangs during the drill-the-triangle-plates-in-asteroid-out scene; CoMI starts but hangs when the actual game begins (but the movies work A-OK).

yes and no I don't have any SymbianOS device, but I hate giving wrong advice - so if anyone asks "will CoMI run on my device" I usually head to a compatibility page like http://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php/SymbianOS_S60 - now this (currently) has a "SCUMM" column in the top table - and it's all green, so it implies that all SCUMM games run, including DIG, CoMI and so on. Then there's a second table below where there are SCUMM and SCUMMV7 columns, so that'd make it more obvious - if a new user knew which games are V7. Admittedly, there's a line of text above which talks about generally unplayable games but I get distracted by all the nice green fields for "SCUMM"Noelemahc wrote:clem, that depends on how strong, hardware-wise, your device is. Similarly every single device does not run BS1/2 due to "resolution" - but since CoMI uses the same resolution as BS1/2 and apparently runs since it is "green" in the SCUMM V7 column this would contradict itself?
My point being, maybe the wiki should be changed to better reflect this on a problematic per-game-basis. I would do it but without the devices in question I really have no information what to put there.

On my p1i there is quite a lag and it's very slow, voice and picture not sync at all also - I wouldn't call that A-ok probably ok?
I cant imagine on your phone the game being better , because of all the more ram on the p1i etc
I doubt your processor is better also
I also managed to get that medallion to show up when with willy,but then it kind of froze or something - always get the SDL_3 error, do u get that too?
Could it be that with some modification the game could still run as it is?
