I Have No Mouth, And I Must Scream - Original CD Version

Post by Silver28 »

Hi everyone!

I'm new to the forum (to state the obvious)

I have the original CD version of the game but it isn't recognised by ScummVM and I can't add it to the games list, any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

I can already foresee that the nearest admin/dev/anybody who's not new to the forum/me will ask you to share the exact details on the versions of ScummVM and the game itself that you are using and the MD5s for your game data files.

I have the latest version of ScummVM.

Other than the fact I have the original CD version, I don't what other information you need?

I have no idea what MD5s are.

Sorry if it's frustrating!

0.10.0 or 0.11.0svn? Windows, Linux or some other operating system?

according to http://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php/Dataf ... ust_Scream
you will need to add the folder with the .res files to get it recognized by ScummVM - sometimes datafiles are in a subdirectory on the CD.

Which language is your game?

MD5s are "hashes", a hash is a number calculated from all the bytes in a file and is used by ScummVM to identify a certain file (ie if there are different language versions of a game but the filenames are identical this is used to say whether it's English, German or some other language)

Thanks for your reply, I appreciate it can be frustrating talking to a simpleton!
