Hm, the direct method is leading 5-0. It would be even more exciting if it were more even.

Yep, this is what I'm hoping to do.
Less time spent on features nobody uses means more time on new stuff.

I wouldn't hesitate to ditch it if I were you because there is a DLDI way to do quite the same thing through FCSR.
Okay you lose the zipping and the saving but who needs saving anyway... Erm.
Let's wait for somebody else to add SRAM write support to FCSR. That's the whole point of DLDI anyway
