Hello AgentQ,
I am a great fan of your porting work as old adventures really come to life on the DS's portable screens.
In this shining beacon of nostalgia, though, there are some minor aspects that somehow detract from the experience.
1. The mousebutton icon
It's really nice to be reminded what mouse button is currently associated to the stylus, but would it be possible to do so in a slightly less intrusive way? The top screen is where I usually read text, and sometimes it gets obscured by this very large icon. The same purpose could be achieved with a much smaller graphic in the bottom-right corner (either a small-font letter -L/R/H- or a smaller graphic schematizing the mouse buttons).
Do you think it would be possible to implement something like this? If you don't want this to be the default, maybe you could include it as a toggle in the options, so you don't lose the visual clarity for newcomers.
2. The default top screen zoom level
I usually play with the top screen zoom at 1X, because it allows me to read most of the text clearly. Yet, whenever I start a game the zoom level is at some non-integer number (1.5X?), and I always have to press R-A until I get to 1.
I know you included an option to force the top display into 2X zoom, but that makes most of the text strings overflow out of the screen. Would it be possible to include an option to specify the startup zoom level? (or maybe just radio-button choose between sensible values like Fit/1X/1.5X/2X?)
I thank you again for all the great work, and hope that you will find these interface suggestions sensible enough. Otherwise, feel free to disregard me
Yours truly,
Donaroriak
