I have a lot more tinkering to do before then.
is there a particular filter you use to help increase image size without too many side effects?
Alien Skin Blowup is the upscaling tool we use at work. But it's important to get rid of printing screens and general noise first. I use a combination of FFT and NeatImage.

I don't know, there's something about NeatImage that make the filtered results look very unnatural to me.. Something always feels a bit off somehow, but I guess it's ok to use in combination with other filters.

Well, usually removing ALL noise makes everything look unnatural. But it helps to scale the image much better. You can always add grain and texture afterwards.

Found a custom cover for Loom that seems to use exactly that one, but it's higher resolution. I'm not sure if it's good enough though. Could be resized for all I know, but it looks clean enough.

Also found this for MM, not sure if it helps though as there's been so much MM stuff posted already (and it's only 640x816). It's really clear though, so perhaps it's already been edited by someone?

It seems to be using the scans from MojoArts.

The MM-one looks nice though, not sure if it was on MobyGames. But since I'm having trouble recreting the brush strokes on the ground, this one might be a good template for that.

Clean version of MM (from the Classic Adventures Manual (MM section)), but black and white and not that good quality, but it might help:

http://members.fortunecity.com/harang/ca1.jpg (or just use http://members.fortunecity.com/harang/classicmm.html and it should work without having to copy/paste the link)

I sure hope I'm not posting things you already got or someone else already posted (thread is growing large).

fortunecity is giving an error on that image link.

EDIT: sorry about that, it works fine if you paste the link

again not sure if this is any better than anything

perhaps the lighter images can help you pick out the details of the image

Hmm.. I'll just add the link to the page where it's from as well.

Well its been a couple really busy days but i managed to get some scans uploaded of the FM-Towns Loom Cover art, unfortunately i couldn't get it all in the scan i took so i decided to just focus on the front. There are some unfortunate creases in the picture but i also scanned one the jewel case inserts wich has a pretty clean version of the cover art as well as the black and white art on the manual.

I also included a scan of the cover of the Japanese Book of Patterns for the heck of it. Its a completely diffrent image that the cover art, but its pretty unique. I have to say im a fan of the Red heavy design of it (would probably eat most printers alive though :P )

anyways, get em Here
