Monkey Island EGA problem - screen strip is out of bounds!?

When playing the EGA version of Monkey Island, when entering the church (after opening the door) to stop the LeChucks wedding at the end of the game scumm enters debug mode and an error message saying 'screen strip 18767 is out of bounds (0,7)' is displayed. Does anyone know what this means and how I can fix it as I'm left with the options of typing exit or pressing esc which closes the game.

PS I've got the 256 cd rom version but dug out the 16 colour version for nostalgia!!

Lol forgot to say I'm running scumm on Windows Vista and the version of scumm i've got is 0.11.1.

It is a badly copied file. Recopy it from the original media.
