Don't know is this is the problem with ScummVM or the game, but i'm not getting no sound whatsoever in Loom (VGA/DOS/English). I'm using the latest SVN. Is it possible that i'm missing some sound files? My version has these files:
000.LFL
901.LFL
902.LFL
903.LFL
904.LFL
Disk01.lec
Loom.exe.

Re: Loom sound
All the sound in the DOS 256-colour version of the game is stored in one long (50+ minutes) audio track on the CD. I don't know about the SymbianOS port, but the standard version of ScummVM can play it either directly from the CD, or from a compressed (MP3, Ogg Vorbis or FLAC) file. The README file has some more information about that.sarmasarma6 wrote:Is it possible that i'm missing some sound files?
First of all, i am sorry about my english it is very bad...
I play Loom VGA PC CD-ROM on my nokia e51, because it is pc version it have a Long size mp3, track1.mp3 75Mb with all game sound.
LAGGY, I think this mp3 is too much heavy for my device (75MB) and i think i need to reencode it. Every time game seeks for a sound, game stops and lag.
I made a track1.amr of 5Mb. I hope ScummVM support this format. I also will try with an mp3 with best performance for my device.
EDITED:
Confirmed that, with a track1.mp3 at MPEG Audio Layer 3 12000Hz mono 32Kbps [Audio] works fine, no lag.
Thank you for ScummVM

The version i have,
the sound is an audio cd, i extract it to mp3
Copied from general ScummVM readme:
7.
Using compressed audio files
---- ----------------------------
7.8.0) Using MP3 files for CD audio:
------ -----------------------------
Use LAME or some other MP3 encoder to rip the cd audio tracks to files. Name
the files track1.mp3 track2.mp3 etc. ScummVM must be compiled with MAD support
to use this option. You will need to rip the file from the CD as a WAV file,
then encode the MP3 files in constant bit rate. This can be done with the
following LAME command line:
lame -t -q 0 -b 96 track1.wav track1.mp3
