Its just a mass of files with no installer or exacutable so im a little lost :P.

I thought the Win32 daily snapshot (in the CVS Builds section on the downloads page) was an installer, but I could be wrong. As long as one of the files is called scummvm.exe or something similar, you should be able to simply run it, as usual.

If it's a bunch of .cpp and .h files, you've downloaded the source code, which was not what I meant. :wink:

Ah-Ha! got it, seems like i was downloading the "daily snapshot" linked on the main page (home page) which i assume is the source code. Anyhow got it running now and here you go:

I've made the debug messages a bit more verbose, so that now they may read something like "Loaded resource 'Wav fxGull51' from 'Carib1.clu' on CD 2 (2)". It should be in the next daily snapshot or so. Could you try it again then?

Could you also keep an eye out for a bunch of message that are among the first to appear when the game starts? They should look something like this:

Aha! Finally a clue!

For some reason, your cd.inf claims that in addition to the files being on CD1 or CD2, they are also cached on hard disk. I haven't checked exactly what the original engine did, but I know that it used to copy data files from CD to hard disk during the course of the game to speed things up. ScummVM does not do this kind of caching, so I assumed that this flag was never used.

I've made another change which (as usual) should make it into the next daily snapshot, or possibly the one after that. Could you check to see if it finally works now?

(I'm going to make the same change on the 0.8 branch, so the fix will be in 0.8.1 as well, if and when that is released.)

Well, if you ask me, really many things have enhanced/bettered since 0.8.0 by now, especially in game detection/compatibility.

Since I bought many Mac and HE-Games after the 0.8.0 release and reported many detection-clues I really can tell that game detection has greatly advanced since 0.8.0.

I also must say it's save now to add spyfox3, pajama3 and some others to fully playable in the readme.

I have successfully completed those games, and didn't run into any major problems except the known bugs, which aren't really a tragedy.

Compared to some nasty early LA bugs, the HE games really seem smooth to play.

Now I'm really looking forward to 0.8.1.

Consider a small test period of maybe 1 week with 0.8.1 builds, since the actual testing at the moment took place with 0.9.0Cvs.
