I was never able to play + media ever in my PS2, without complications. Alot of white lines flying by like trees from a railroad window, however reburning the DVD+ media on DVD- media solved the case every time.SlyEcho wrote:...a DVD+RW...

Re: Problem
Well I have, but it needs some tricks like doing full erases and burning a few times. Also the book type needs to be changed to DVD-ROM.I was never able to play + media ever in my PS2, without complications.
Anyway you can forget about the DVD+RW, 'cause I didn't get even it working from a CD-R. I might have messed up burning it, but it was my last one, and I have no intentions of making more coasters anyway.
I'm not sure about this, but once I read that v3 and previous consoles needed an update for being able to read dvd+r/+rw. That update could be found on a CD which came with ps2 remote control. If your ps2 is really that old (newer ps2 are about v15) you can try. Mine is a v5 and it's from summer 2002.

Hy to everyone!
Excuse me for my bad english and for the noob question:
simply, I cannot burn cds... I don't understand why, I made the image whit the "make_iso.bat" as specified, burned it whit nero, but every time the copy seems to be full of errors, and both PS2 and windows XP don't read it.
The strange thing is that Daemon Tools mounts the image whitout problems
I tried it whit the game "The Dig", whit no compression.
The image file is 716.000 Kb, but when burned it is only 608 Mb
I burned it on a 700 Mb cd
Help!

I also tryed to obtain more info by the "Nero Info Tools" whit both my burned cd and the mounted image whit Daemon Tool, and I discovered strange results:
The mounted image is Mode2 as expected
The CD instead, which my pc cannot read, seems to be Mode1 according to Nero... but the scummvm.cue reports Mode2 as write method!

This is so cool.. I can (almost) play BASS on my PS2!
However there seem to be two issues for me:
- My keyboard is not recognized (doesn't do anything), trackball works fine though
- The game locks up right after it starts (after you open the door and the security guard yells 'You wont escape that way')
But I must say I'm impressed nonetheless I'll try a different keyboard tomorrow to see if that helps. I'm running from CD on a v14 PAL PS2 using Swap Magic 3.6+ (yes, I'm a cheap shot ).

This thread is more than long enough already. And it's become outdated with the release of 0.8.1.
Closing :)
Some of you may be disappointed by the new release since the requested features
- booting from any device
- forcing a videomode
- using hdd0:+Homebrew as partition
- fix for the comi cannon bug
- and possibly others I forgot about completely
are still missing.
But I've basically spent all my time on writing a free replacement for the sony usbd and wasn't able to implement any of these requests.
Sorry :)
I hope I'll get around to take care of these soon.
