intel mac audio issues

i'm trying to play full throttle on an intel macbook, and whenever you go to talk to someone, its almost like it only plays part of what that character is saying, then they just keep talking (like watching poorly dubbed asian cinema lol).

any help would be greatly appreciated.

to edit what i said previously; its almost as if it lags (hesitates) in between lines during the cutscenes as well.

Are you playing directly from the CD? If so, you may find performance improves if you copy all the datafiles to your computer's hard-drive and use that.

Try copying your datafiles from your cd again, perhaps they got corrupted.
